Cheesy Biscuits
What does one do when one wants to have a nice cheesy dip with wholewheat crackers and cosy up with a book or netflix? A non-messy option would be wholewheat cheese crackers. It's quick and ready in a jiffy. I teamed it with mugs of hot Kashmiri Kahwa that I had purchased online a while ago. Perfect way to chill!
Ingredients
Whole wheat flour – 1 cup
Butter (frozen) – 4 tbsp
Cheese (grated) – 5 tbsp (can add more if you like it
cheesier)
Red chili flakes or Crushed Black Pepper – 2 tbsp (can add more
or less according to taste)
Milk – 1 or 2 tbsp
Method
Cut the butter into pieces
Rub the flour into the flour to form crumbs
Add cheese and chili flakes or pepper
Add milk little by little to form stiff dough
Don’t knead too much
Divide the dough into two equal parts
Roll out each part between two plastic sheets to ¼ inch thickness
Use cookie cutter of your desired shape
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees C for about 12 to 15
mins
Cool completely
Preparing the Kahwa is a no-brainer. I just boiled a mug of water and immersed a tablespoon of the pack into it. I covered it with a lid for 5 minutes. It is similar to making green tea. You can increase or decrease its concentration according to the duration in which you allow the contents to steep in the hot water. It can be reused again. So I enjoyed two mugs of kahwa.
